Technical Writing Projects
Procedures - Compressor Change
Problem/Scope: Service document describing the replacement of a compressor for an air conditioner. This document covers two different models, and is for instances where one brand of compressor must be replaced with a different brand.
Challenges/Notes: I worked with the product designer to get the technical details correct and the document was subjected to reviews by editors for both graphics and writing.
My Contribution: I wrote the procedures and drew the graphics based on the design solid-models.

Service Manual - AC Unit
Problem/Scope: This is a service reference document for use by field service partners when maintaining and repairing an Air Conditioner.
Challenges/Notes: This document has a lot of cross-references to other manuals, since it is used during service partner orientation and training. However, it does contain parts replacement procedures and parts lists.
My Contribution: The parts replacement procedures starting on page 37 (43 in the pdf) were all written and drawn by me. The site forms are not under my control, nor did I create them.

Operation - Fan Device
Problem/Scope: This manual is the installation and set-up guide for a fan product. It describes physical installation and describes the settings necessary for operation in varying environments.
Challenges/Notes: The interface for this device consists of a dial and several LEDs, and limited space was available on the actual unit. Thus everything needed to be in the manual.
My Contribution: I wrote the operation section of this manual starting on page 9 (PDF page 13) through the end of the document.

Brochure - Manufacturing Site
Problem/Scope: I created this brochure during my undergraduate internship. The brochure was to be part of a package of materials handed to visitors to the facility so that they would have an introduction to some of the functions and teams in place at the site.
Challenges/Notes: I could not take pictures due to security reasons. Also, as a summer intern, I had limited knowledge of the facility, so I had to rely heavily on the help of experts around the site.
My Contribution: I wrote and edited the copy based on subject matter expert inputs and did the visual layout of the brochure.
